Overview

This project was a series of three posters designed for RateMyAgent’s annual Hackathon competition, where Developers, Designers, and other employees collaborate to create innovative ideas that could be implemented into the company’s product. The 2025 theme was Artificial Intelligence, and my role was to design posters for the three winning categories: Game Changer, People’s Choice, and Techtacular. Each design carried a distinct aesthetic—dark synthwave, sci-fi Tron, and vaporwave meets 80s synthwave—while maintaining a cohesive visual system that tied them together.

Aim

The objective was to create visually striking designs that reflected the futuristic, experimental spirit of AI while celebrating the achievements of the winning teams. The posters needed to be both bold and cohesive, working as a collective series while still giving each award category its own unique identity. RateMyAgent wanted a consistent creative direction that felt innovative and celebratory, something employees could rally around and take pride in.

Process & Methodologies

To align with the AI-driven theme, I used a joint workflow of AI and design tools. I began by generating concept imagery with Adobe Firefly, which provided unique starting points for each poster’s aesthetic direction. From there, I composited and refined the pieces in Photoshop, layering effects, textures, and neon-inspired lighting to achieve the right visual tone. Finally, I used Figma to fine-tune layouts, ensure consistency across the series, and prepare the designs for final delivery.

Each poster explored a different retro-futuristic style: Game Changer embraced a dark synthwave palette of deep purples and glowing accents, People’s Choice drew on a sci-fi Tron-inspired aesthetic, and Techtacular fused vaporwave with 80s synthwave vibrancy. Despite these differences, cohesion was achieved through consistent typography, grid structure, and shared visual motifs, making the set feel both unified and distinct.
